Letter from Nautamatic about the TR-1 Autopilot

We at Nautamatic appreciate being declared the performance leader in your October autopilots article. It shows that Nautamatic’s background in aerospace technology is poised to dominate the marine autopilot industry.

However, I think you gave our competitors too much credit for staying with old technology and for glossing over what an autopilot should do- which is perform! The TR-1 Autopilot is the only “flawless” autopilot in your report. Evidently, old traditions die-hard with major manufacturers and you could not bring yourself to acknowledge that they perform 40% to 50% less than the TR-1.
