Rust-Stain Removers

From a field of nine products, Star brite comes out on top, followed by FSR and Power One.

Most of us have left at one time or another the anchor chain on the deck, or a fish hook on the top of the baitwell, or a pair of needlenose pliers in the engine compartment—thus opening the door to an oxidation process that leaves us with that familiar nasty rust stain on the boat’s fiberglass. These stains, which are among the ugliest and the toughest to remove because rust seeps into the gelcoat, often form around deck hardware, too.
