At a cruise speed of 28 miles per hour, the Shamrock 246 Adventurer sips only 8.3 gallons per hour, which equates to 3.1 miles to the gallon. That’s more than three times better fuel economy than some twin-outboard boats.
Last month, we published an editorial that called for the marine industry to stop hyping horsepower and speed and come up with some boat-engine packages that are more economical to operate.
