Aftermarket Livebait Tanks

When we set aside a day for fishing, we want to fish—not squander the morning looking for live bait.

So we take the occasional “bait only” fishing trip and stock a large in-water pen hanging from our dock that can hold enough bait for several days of offshore trips. Filling the pen is a problem, however. It takes several trips with our Contender’s 40-gallon in-deck well.

To cut down on the bait trips, we decided to add a second large on-deck removable livebait tank. The tank had to be capable of being used on either the Contender or our 17-foot Action Craft flats boat with their respective pumps. …
