| Galley Goofs If the kitchen is the most important room in the house, then the galley is of no lesser importance on a boat, especially aboard an overnight cruiser. So why so many mess-ups in these mess halls? For some fishermen we know, the galley is just a place to rest a half-eaten Slim Jim, maybe a Snickers bar and a bag of potato chips. For the cruising family, however, good meals aboard are crucial to sanity on the high seas. That means the boat must have a practical, workable galley. Over the past year, Powerboat Reports has snapped a few photos of galleys on cruising boats from roughly 26 to 35 feet.
