Sea Ray 320 Sundancer

Sea Ray packs in all the creature comforts and amenities you’ll need in an overnighter. This express cruiser doesn’t ride all that bad in a chop, either. It needs a higher bow rail, larger V berth, and better helm ergonomics.


The 320 is a nicely appointed overnighter that can handle a 2- to 4-foot chop. With full fuel and four aboard, our test boat was a bit sluggish out of the hole, though.
With 240 dealer locations across the US, it’s hard not to bump into a Sea Ray if you’re in the market for an express cruiser—new or used. No question, there are a lot of Sea Rays out there. Sea Ray owners are happy too: The Tennessee builder took first-place in the J.D. Power and Associates customer-satisfaction survey for express cruisers. Sea Ray did well in PBR’s Used Boat Survey in 2000, also.

In the construction department, our sources tell us that the Brunswick-owned company has improved some of its boatbuilding methods. “They’re really trying to do things right,” said marine surveyor Greg Group, who has inspected hundreds of Sea Rays. …
