Sea Sport Pacific 3200

A Pacific Northwest builder uses high-quality construction materials and methods to produce a strong yet lightweight 32' planing catamaran. It rides a little rough for a cat but scores big in most other areas.


The Pacific 3200's design utilizes asymmet-
ūrical hulls (with integral lift strips) and a flat
tunnel to quickly climb onto plane.

Since Sea Sport Boats built its first enclosed pilothouse boat in 1983, this family-owned business has regularly added boats to its line of monohulls. It all started with a 22-footer, a boat similar to a C-Dory (PBR, April 1996) but with a deep-V bottom. Twenty-seven-foot and 24' models came next, and by 1996 a 30’ model was on the drawing board. But a Sea Sport customer suggested to company president Ron Wright that he contact an East Coast designer who had just come up with an impressive 33' diesel-powered planing cat that—with a fully enclosed pilothouse—would thrive in the Northwest’s cold, foul weather.
