Twin Vee Awesome 22

This low-cost planing cat thrives in rough water, providing an attractive alternative for the daytripper or fisherman tired of getting beaten up in rough-riding monohulls. Improved fit and finish would increase the value of this fun, stable platform.

We’ve been using a catamaran for the past eight months or so to test a pair of twin Suzuki 90-hp four-strokes (see July 2001 and February 2002). The Twin Vee Awesome 22 has also served us admirably as a workboat, providing a sturdy, open platform from which to pull anchors, retrieve antifouling paint panels, and analyze the effectiveness of distress signals and other such equipment and products reviewed in the pages of PBR.
