Italian yacht builder Azimut, founded by Paulo Vitelli in 1969, builds 11 luxury cruising models from 39 to 100 feet. That makes our test boat the smallest in the lineup, but there are more similarities, including basic construction methods and materials and joinery quality, than differences between the 39 and remainder of the fleet. The company has been a leader overseas in fiberglass technology, producing the first all-fiberglass yacht over 100 feet in 1983.
