Stamas 370 Express

The rugged 370 delivers a soft ride and features a raised helm that offers excellent visibility. This stellar performer could stand some cockpit alterations, lower engine noise levels and neater woodwork below, however, especially considering its $400K+ price tag.

Stamas has been building fishing boats that also cruise for some 50 years. With this fish/cruise emphasis, the company is positioned in the same market as Pursuit and Rampage. The Stamas 370 is the builder’s largest effort to date, and we’ll say up front that we see evidence of a boat that is well-conceived and clearly a success in many ways, with a unique sportfish layout that will suit some families well. In some ways, though, it’s not as well executed as we would have hoped; there’s evidence of an outboard-powered boat manufacturer recently having moved up to the big leagues—with, for instance, cut-and-pasted cockpit details, more than a few…
