| Good News? Genmar Buys OMC Boats, Bombardier Buys Evinrude, Johnson Dont breathe a sigh of relief yet, OMC boat and engine owners. But the recent $95 million acquisition of the bankrupt Outboard Marine Corp. by two big marine industry players at least gives us some hope that warranties will be honored. OMC declared bankruptcy protection on Dec. 22. The U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Illinois signed papers in early February approving the joint $95 million bid from JTC Acquisition LLC, an affiliate of Minneapolis-based Genmar, and Montreal-based Bombardier, which makes Sea-Doo watercraft.
